Reboot Representation’s Tech Coalition Pools Its Resources in Response to COVID-19

Posted on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, 10:34 AM PDT

In response to COVID-19, Reboot created an online bank of helpful news and resources from our coalition members. These resources offer support for schools, educators, students, and families navigating this new normal, like Adobe’s Creative Cloud Support for Schools and Educators, Amazon’s Free CS Courses, and Salesforce’s Resources for Education Institutions.

In times of crisis, we have the opportunity to come together like never before. The COVID-19 pandemic has launched every aspect of society into unfamiliar territory. New social distancing and stay-at-home guidelines have created an era where technology is necessary to maintain not only personal connections, but academic and professional ones as well. These new health precautions have disproportionately impacted the education sector and have only exacerbated the inequities faced by the Reboot Coalition’s primary audience—women of color in late high school and early college working towards degrees in computing and careers in tech.

Through collective and community-oriented action, the Reboot Coalition is ready to help our educators, parents, and underrepresented students of color adapt and discover meaningful solutions for online and distance learning. Technology empowers, innovates, and adapts—and in this time of crisis and uncertainty, both technology and our own adaptability are top of mind for all of us.
