Coalition Companies Share Commitment to Racial Equity

Posted on Thursday, August 13, 2020, 6:08 AM PDT

Across the nation, the movement for Black lives has shone a spotlight on the urgent need for racial equity in our systems, our policies, our cities, and our workplaces. Reboot Representation Tech Coalition member companies recognize that this is a moment to commit to action that will lead to change in the tech sector, both in the short term and the long term.

As a coalition, we are collectively committed to pooling our philanthropic resources and investing in the often overlooked programs and institutions that make educations and careers in computing more equitable for Black, Latinas, and Native American women. In addition to our collective commitment to representation, each coalition company has the individual power to commit to racial equity internally, from reevaluating the barriers that disproportionately exclude underrepresented groups to offering grants to racial-equity-focused organizations.

The actions of these companies, when multiplied, can affect industry-wide change. We are honored to partner with so many companies whose responses to the need for racial equity and their accompanying approaches are thoughtful, action-oriented, and sustainable. Please see below for a full list of solidarity statements from our coalition member companies.

No single company created gender and racial inequity in the industry, but when they prioritize inclusion, especially as a collective, they have the unique power to change the current landscape.
